So, I'm in need of money (not as much as hel, if you somehow missed his homeless blog). Once hel gets more stable, I'm going to put a donation system in (until then, please divert any funds you would normally donate to 64D, to hel). Until then, I was thinking of putting up some ads.
I'd prefer to put up something user based, where you pay me to advertise something of yours, but how many of you are making enough money off of something, to want to pay me to advertise it?I've looked at a few ad companies in the past, and google ads just seems the easiest, flat out. Now, we had google ads a few years ago, and we got kicked out of the program pretty quickly, because apparently people were clicking the ads too much. So…Don't do that again, okay?I was thinking of putting the ads at the bottom of the page, OR at the top of the page, to the right of the logo. I don't know. T_TAnyway, weigh in. What do you think. Are you offended. where should I put the ad? Should I shove it up my rear end?
I don't have adblock, I just manually block annoying ad spots on sites I regularly visit. Which is luckily only 2 or 3 sites. I don't like adblocks because they don't limit themselves to annoying music/video ads, which makes it really hard for legit sites to get decent ad money. Everyone just downloads the blocker and it instantly blocks the simple image/text ads on my site =/
Gonna agree with everyone who mentioned Project Wonderful, mostly because:
I say that if you need to put ads on this site to make money, you should definitely go for it. Project wonderful seems interesting. I may use that for my site once I finish rebuilding it.
I have nothing against ads on the site. Just so long as I don't have to click 'em.
By the looks of it, we could stand a decent chance with Project Wonderful, but failing that, Google Ads will work… providing we don't go click-spamming it.Using ads would probably be a good idea.
Project wonderful is great for that because of the fact that some of the stuff that gets advertised with that network is actually interesting sometimes. If I donate, I won't have funds for the gecko. (not that I have much of a gecko fund to begin with; I found out that the $200 they gave for people who passed their AP exam last year has now gone down to $100…)
Dear FSX,
GET MONEYSincerely, helWho changed the title to aids? >_>
Cyrus: I don't know who would click the ads about online gambling, but they paid me to do it. *shrugs*I checked out project wonderful in the past, but I forgot about it. I'll do some research about it on Sunday or Monday. svf: Don't click the ads unless they interest you. That's what got us kicked off google ads last time, without any payment from them. =PLAR: but who will host your site?!Oh, right…Fuck, I need to figure out how to set you up…Mega: You don't have to click the ads. You shouldn't click the ads. It's click fraud if you do. :(Pounce: You'd better start passing more exams, before little fatty gets too fat and explodes!…Or gets too cute, and I stare at it with wide eyes, until it explodes.hel: I'm trying. :(
