3d Engine:

As I mentioned In another blog I was looking for a 3d engine to use so I can learn to make 3d games. The XNA engines are STILL in beta testing and Xtreme3d id hard as hell to use :( . As for Irrlicht, It turns out that there is a version for game maker called GMirrlicht. Despite the fact that it is just as powerful as the original irrlicht (complete with light mapping and particle system) there are far too few tutorials to go with it. The one I have resembles the Xtreme3d ones.

However, There is another more known engine called Ultimate 3d. Some of you may know this one and will say, that it is one of the best free engines out there for GM. I believe Mark overmars should make a new game maker built around this engine, complete with level editor or something.

I cant post any images because they are too big, but download and try the Collision demo, if you have anim8or you can make levels with this.

Street Fighter 2010:

No, this game is not in the Street Fighter canon. It is a piece of junk made to capitalize on the Street Fighter craze of 1990. You play as ken who is out for revenge after your best friend (NOT RYU) is killed. The story is just a load of bull. Listen.

Quote: The story
"Ken had no interest in the Frontier, until his partner Troy was killed. Someone had broken into their lab, stolen their invention, and left Troy as a mere puddle of jelly on the floor. Even though it's been 25 years since Ken was king of the street fighting circuit, it's nothing a few good bionics can't fix.

Fortunately for him, the killer's path is very easy to trace. Every Frontier world the killer visited became quickly infested by the "cyboplasm" Ken and Troy had developed. In small doses, it gave people the strength they needed to remain alive, but an overdose and the cyboplasm would come alive, taking over the host's mind and body, turning them into mindless, violent mutants."

This main character was not really ken, but was changed by the localizing guys that brought this to the US. Thankfully, it is not coming out on the Virtual console so we will not see this abomination ever again.

Lulz your banner is jacking off.

Sorry, I just noticed that.

BTW: is the first screenie your game?

I believe Xtreme3D was made by the same person who ported Irrlicht. What you have to realise is when you said it's as powerful as the real irrlicht… thats because it is the real irrlicht just running it's own window ontop of GM's

U3D is very nicely documented compared to X3D. I recommend it for moving up a step. I'm beginning to study U3D myself, and it's very nice. Those tutorials are amazing.

That model looks like the wolf on the collisions tutorial.

X3D is documented you just have to know where to look. X3D is almost a 1 to 1 wrapper of GLScene: http://glscene.sourceforge.net/wikka/ReferenceManual

Kilin, if you're comparing the impish thing in the picture to the wolf, the head looks nothing like the wolf, but the whole body does. Hmmm…

@AtomicMushroom: The Screenie is from the example included in under the screenie, GMirrlicht in real time.

@Evilish: So that is how GMirrlcht works. I looked at some of the scripts and they look similar to the Irrlicht script.

The thing I find funny about Street Fighter 2010 is that it is a designes just to sell and not to entertain.

Essentially it uses the brand names Street Fighter and final Fight, as well as set it in the future, which people were attracted to back then…

It would look like doom64.

@Adventus: It's documented, but poorly.
