I have some really, REALLY unfortunate news. I have lost a flashdrive containing the most recent version of the game I have been making(That is the most recent Squares game). This comes as a huge shock because I was just about to release the demo. This really sucks because I really put some work in it. Some of you may have seen the video I posted a few post back.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBie1Ou4z2EI did back it up but that means that I have to retype several weeks worth of code, graphics, and stage design.I need advice on what to do next. I was thinking of releasing the .gm6 for all those interested in helping me complete. I don't want to start all over again after coming this far and don't want to release a crappy looking demo. What should I do?EDITEnough is enough. You guys are just a bunch of dumb asses. None of you, absolutely NONE OF YOU could answer the simple question if what next. Like FireflyX I am leaving this god forsaken community for good. Your all no help at all.
You only had it on your flash drive?
What. The gm6, ogg files, most of the graphics and some software I use to make it. I said I backed most of it up!
but seeing as you have to rewrite a lot that means you only had an up-to-date copy on your flash drive.
What.Thats right
:(I dont know what to do next. Should I ask just release what I had stored as an example or should I just ask the community for help?Well, if you can be arsed, fix it all back up, but if you can't, then just release what you still have :)
Hmmm… I don't know.
What I had on the flash is a vast improvement over thr back up. I had a complete zone of 5 levels and a boss fight. Most of what you saw in the video was also backed up (I'm not sure about the slingshot, I will have to check when I get back home) and some of the boss programming. Is there anyone you know that can help me get this game back up to speed?(it's mainly scripting I need help in. I can to the stage design and character animations myself.)How did you manage to lose your flashdrive?
Well if you did it once I don't see why you can't do it again. Though I really don't get why people save important files on flashdrives.
I used to ferry things to and fro, now I do that but also upload anything vital to my school server and my ftp.
Heh, they auto URL ftp!
