[mazi]Bad News

I have some really, REALLY unfortunate news. I have lost a flashdrive containing the most recent version of the game I have been making(That is the most recent Squares game). This comes as a huge shock because I was just about to release the demo. This really sucks because I really put some work in it. Some of you may have seen the video I posted a few post back.

I did back it up but that means that I have to retype several weeks worth of code, graphics, and stage design.

I need advice on what to do next. I was thinking of releasing the .gm6 for all those interested in helping me complete. I don't want to start all over again after coming this far and don't want to release a crappy looking demo. What should I do?

EDIT

Enough is enough. You guys are just a bunch of dumb asses. None of you, absolutely NONE OF YOU could answer the simple question if what next. Like FireflyX I am leaving this god forsaken community for good. Your all no help at all.

I've lost 2 flashdrives so I understand fairly well. Yeah, it sucks. If a nerd's best friend is his flash drive then the nerd's best friend will most certainly die when confronted with loose pockets and frequent trips to the gym. (I must have changed like 1000 times with a flash drive in my pocket) So that's how they were irretrievably lost.

As for you solution:

Many AAA designers and production managers actually end up starting over from a certain point on purpose. The best advice is to leave the past where it is and build it up better than before.

Peter Molyneux, for example, had to get the artists of Black and White to redo all the artwork when they were way past the halfway point.

And also, I can help with the boss AI. PM me if you still have a passion for your game.
