Darn Gamemaker! and darn Vista!
So I got this brand new Compaq laptop last month (3GB ram, 2.0 Ghz dual core, 160GB hd, etc.) and it has Vista. And so, Gamemaker has critical problems. When I save a file in gamemaker I cannot access the files that it makes in windows explorer! O_O ITS TERRIBLE! it will effectively end my gamemaker career if their isnt a solution. When the program opens I get an error that says "failed to set data for". its totally lame.Yay for 64digits… i was worried for a long time, but this last transfer im afraid has wounded 64digits to the core. I dont kno if we can ever recover… :/Yay for Prom!
lern2code, not being able to use GM isn't the end of the world.
My old Vista laptop used to do the "failed to set data for ''" error. It was a Dell Inspirion 1501 (1GB ram, 60GB hd) with Vista Basic. My new one, the one I'm on now, is a Dell studio (4GB ram, around 2.0 Ghz dual core, 320GB hd) with Vista Home Premium and I don't get any errors with Game Maker at all.
So I have no clue what could be causing the error, sadly.Edit: I agree with luda. Learn to use something other than GM, its not that hard.I got the same error. Then, eventually GM started working again but it says "Stream Read Error" and I have to run the game then quit just to edit my coding… And that's funny how I have the same exact computer you have and we have the same issues.
:(@ ludamad it is the end of the world JEZUZ SHALL RETURN!
