[LotA] Vote for me!

Posted by omicron1 on April 10, 2007, 10:57 a.m.

So there's a contest going on down at Narf Co. The prize is $500, and Lions of the Atlantic is one of the competitors. However, the administration seems to be running something fishy - one of the games (called "Narf Wars") got three votes - before the download link was released. I don't think it deserves to win (it's a simple TDS game), so I have a proposal to all my blog-readers: Vote for LotA in the Narf Co. forums, and I will give you the opportunity to beta-test DoC's upcoming demo. This means that you'd get it up to a week before everyone else, get your names in the credits, and have a chance to suggest things to be added to the game. Don't let a second-rate game carry the day - vote LotA Today!

The standard update: Combat is now ~50% done. Things that have been added:

* Militia and Bowman units now creatable, usable

* Cursor control has been tightened and is now 100% accurate.

* Aggressive, Defensive stances added to the game

* At-a-glance view of multiple units' health points in the interface

I have a couple of screenshots for y'all today, including one of a battle in progress.

Yeah, i will vote for LotA, even though i personally didnt like it (You used a map of europe for the whole game. Could have at least put in terrain)

The want of the DoC demo is the reason i am waiting for these dumb admins to activate my account

Also, why didnt you tell me about it!?!??!? i would have submitted.. anything

It was in the GMC competitions topic for months…

About the map of Europe: Yes, I could have - if I wanted to abandon any small country outline details and make the whole map blocky.

I'll vote…but my account has to be activated. I guess I'll have to play more than that, though, and I'm getting an error while trying to run your game.

This competition is basically a battle of the refferals, not so much a judge of the better game.

I see…well, then why don't we have all of 64Digits vote for him?

Oh, right, you're in there too, marbs…that's just great! Now I don't know who I DO want to support!

Just remember, if you vote for me, you get the demo a week early. (as well as a place in the credits)

I understand that…and that made the choice harder. Ah, well. As long as marbs doesn't throw bribes, I'm fine.

Grrrr… those admins dont go on very often apparently. They still havent activated my account.

Well, im not sure, maybe waiting a week would be better, cuz then there is a week more of stuff in it =\
