Hey guys. I just wanted to throw this out there, and see who's interested in, or has time for a music composition competition. Of course, this one would (hopefully) be a lot more organized than the last one, and I'll actually have time to sit down and judge this one, because I don't need to do Wintermester, seeing as I passed all my classes.

That might be a little bit better, actually. I'd much prefer to have a challenge than a competition, because music is subjective. My taste in music differs from Steven's, or Juurian's, or Iasper's.
Changing this to a challenge!swagswagswagswag
There are very many things that you can rank a song on, Iasper. That's what the entire study of music theory is, after all, innit? A way to categorically analyze music based on similarities to a series of pre-established practices and rules, and then judge the musical content therein based on how well it adheres to da rules! 'cept not rlygames have controls, story lines, and game play; that's true, but it's just as difficult to rank that on a scale of 1-10 as it is to rank how well a musical piece follows a specific contour or feeling, because it comes down to a gut call for the interpreter as to what it means. every piece of art is indeed different. also cockseagly shall enter. eagly shall make music. Beautiful, beautiful music. All shall enjoy.
Yay.
What a brilliant turn of events.Quick track I plopped together today in honour of the challenge. Started work on this before Pounce opened up the theme to a vote so I worked on the basis of it being a "Space" theme.
Cool! Eagly's in.
How about the participants just choose between the three themes? I mean, this isn't a competition anymore. It doesn't have to be level ground. What do you think?Yeah I'm in.
i vote for spy themes.
I like hel's idea.
I propose we change it back into a competition. It's not an economic system; nobody starves to death if it's unfair.honestly, music is competitive by nature, even if we're in different genres. we all want to be at our best and outdo each other, basically.
we're not girls here (except pounce, and me occasionally). i'd rather be in a competition where everyone's pushing their hardest.
