Aparently "Due to high demand" they have finished taking pre-orders for the most awesome-est console in the world of console-ness. Who pre-ordered today?On a side note since im a G.A.P. member I could have gone to an party with Sony up in New York for playing i before everyone else got a chance but im not friggin 18 yet! Which pisses me off since NY is just a state over from me…iDev you ask? Well not much progress was made today… I finished up a couple small things and fixed a couple GUI components. I'm really not looking foward to the Loading tab… Should be a pain in the ass to do…In more random news im probably going to get a 40gig HD for linux, and get back on Windows eventually…-Steve

Nintendo has innovated and used cutting-edge technology to make it less costly, it's also the easiest to develop games for, and, like always, Nintendo actually DOES care about cutting down load times, so they pressure the companies to lower the load times, that's why a Gamecube game will load shitloads faster than a PS3 or Xbox version of the same game (i know, i've tried, i have a 3-way video imput).You're talking about the backwards playability, Nintendo owns that, it not only has NES, SNES, N64, and GC games, it also supports 2nd and 3rd party games using the Virtual Console. That alone kills PS3's backward compatibility.Graphics are reaching a dead end, Sony doesn't realize that, they just want to try to be better. PS3 is going to suck because they're trying to beat out Microsoft's online and graphics, yet beat out Nintendo's customer satisfaction. This means Sony is the middle child.Sony has become a prototype console, they use brand-new technology that hasn't been fully tested.
