So with all these petitions for random badges, I thought, heck, I need a badge. So I came up with the idea for the 108Badge (while reading REZ's similar blog entry).
What does the 108Badge do? Basically, I give it to you as a reward for using correct grammar and spelling the majority of the time. Why? Because content posted on blogs, forums, and anywhere else on the Internet that isn't an IM window or IRC chatroom should have thought put into it before you click "Submit." This isn't AIM, guys; your writing should be clear and readable. People will like you more for it. And, if I have anything to say about it, you'll get a 108Badge for it.Now seeing as how I posted this right after a previous blog post, don't forget to read it as well. It'll give you cookies if you do.And before you ask, they're Oreos. Uh-Oh Oreos.EDIT.1: Here's version one of my potential 108Badge: EDIT.2: Crap, I gotta change that…you can't see it! Look, nobody else is going to get their own custom badges unless there is very good reason. What chiken's reason was… we probably will never know. But IMO the mods have put thought into the abilities they give to users, and hopefully those powers are not being used inapropriately.
The obsession with badges…
It's a tiny little group of pixels. What's more important is that people understand that a person can write with proper grammar, not that you happened to notice that that person can. However there should be an angry, gif badge because angry.gif is cool.i thnic U R not rite!!!!11111!11
No, I'm just kidding I think you have a great idea, mainly because I take pride in using almost perfect grammar, and I think others should to.Horray for the 1K kid!
And everyone else: this post is half-sarcasm. I think the badges thing is going a bit overboard myself but I feel the need for a grammar badge…meh. And I edited the post to include a sprite I made for it. Go ahead and complain about it now.Where's the cream filling?
I feel the need for a grammar badge; but not one called "108badge" as it has the name has nothing to do with grammar.
-RhysYeah, I think this is a good idea too… less badges that encourage stupid behavior, and more that encourage people to make this a good palce to be.
Well why not call it the RhysBadge then? If its his badge he can call it what he wants.
Not saying that it;s gonna happen… read the latest update to the news.Rhys also got a custom badge. You just have to look closely.
