64Completition Progress Check 4

Posted by Castypher on June 7, 2013, 4:44 p.m.

Today marks the end of the first month. How are you guys holding up to the deadline? Remember, the first completition deadline is one month away. You're halfway there. However, just remember that this deadline is not the final deadline, but you are expected to have a playable, mostly complete game to submit. After it goes through a few selected judges, you'll be given one additional month to work. You should be using this month for tying loose ends and general polish. Further extensions will probably not be given.

Also, for those of you who may not have seen, we've got Joe from IndieBundle.org over here. He'll be keeping an eye on progress and polish, as well as entering the completition himself.

As always, if you feel you won't be ready for the bundle, please let me know, and if you're one of those who doesn't have time to finish the completition at all, let me know so I can move your name off the list.

Or you know, choose something less ambitious. We've had 1-month comps before that worked well. And I'm pretty sure the guys over at IUP wouldn't mind a few smaller games as long as they're of decent quality.

I haven't made progress in over 3 weeks, might as well drop out at this point. In fact, I should probably just accept that I will never be a game designer.

Sorry to be such a downer.

I am feeling similarly to Rolf

Here, have a wolf-thing.

Anyway, in complete seriousness: I'm going to be 'leaving' the internet for up to three months, to look after a house for somebody. There is no internet connection. There is, fortunately, electricity.

I'm going to keep at it, and see if I have anything useful before I have to go, but….

Why don't you take your pc with and work on your game there and then hop back home before the deadline to submit?

Astryl 11 years, 4 months ago

Was thinking of doing that, but there's no guarantee that I will be able to.

Oh hey, apparently I'm not doing that bad compared to some other people, in the end. I've managed to "rescue" the project and this should result in something playable… or at least showable-off.

By this I mean I still haven't even completed the collision engine and I keep running into problems (plus, I've literally redone a couple of things four or five times)… but I'm getting there.

I probably won't manage to get it done in time for the deadline though.
