So, here's a look at some of the early gameplay and game's opening [after the intro animations, of course]
You'll notice the new HUD, it's much cleaner. Also note the 'z' icon to the bottom right of the screen, it illuminates when the Z button can be used when interacting with a door, ladder, elevator, control panel etc. Here's a video of the gameplay, as you can see I've made quite a lot of progress.Sorry about the poor quality, does anyone have any suggestions for recording better? I sense jealousy from Kenon.
The portal rage is all because of the fact I love portal to death and describing something like this as portal-like would just be impossible in my eyes. The calling it fake may be, but I dunno. I can't ever tell if I'm jealous or not.
Pretty cool. Shoddy capture, though. There is this one program that has a really good codec for that, but I can't remember it's name…
The new interface is a massive improvement. Makes an incredible difference.
Also, "receiving."I'm digging this so far, it's reminding me of Fusion. That was a compliment.Oh, Kenon, to specify the Portal-like aspects are not in the video, sorry for not mentioning that, and secondly what I meant was there's a lot of mechanical movement of the rooms e.g. walls that extrude, moving platforms that have to be activated, platforms that rise, and trip-wire type puzzles where basically instead of multiple stages with multiple finish lines, it's like an ever continuing puzzle. Trust me, I love Portal to death as well, and PORTAL 2 IS COMING OUT SOMETIME SOON OMG SYKED.
@Obelisk: Thanks, I fixed it. I wouldn't have caught that. Also, I agree the old HUD was fugly as all hell. And yea, after I did the elevator part, I thought it had a Fusion vibe as well, probably the music. A lot of the Metroid influence isn't even intended it's just how it comes out.
One word.
TenseHuh?
