Coming out sometime in 2012, apparently.
Supposedly a complete rewrite and will sport a ton of new features. No information on what these new features actually are, so guess we'll just have to stay tuned. What I'm excited about though is that Game Maker 9 will be available for both PC and Mac. No longer will Mac GM users be stuck one step behind the PC version. :)http://yoyogames.com/news
I haven't gotten into HTML5 yet….
They increased the price of GM8 for a couple of improvements that were necessary from the beginning. I think they will find a reason to increase it further.
Maybe to $50, but I'm still talking about the upgrade price not the new price.
Seriously, Game Maker needs to be 20 dollars again.
Seems like their too busy to run the help desk. I have had an "urgent" ticket sitting there for over two weeks, the issue being that Game Maker spontaneously stopped accepting my license.
damn sounds awesome. YoYo isn't as bad as some people think they are. It's true, it's taken them a very long time to make any progress but Sandy's last post was very exciting. i'm glad to hear there are so many plans for GM itself, which is what we all care about right?
The update to the site wasn't that great but it's something at least. i never check it so this was the first news i've read about YoYo or Gm since it went up. i'm really looking forward to the new versions of GM and i want to test them all out, even though i'm on a tight budget i'm 100% willing to buy these newer versions as they come - best damn product i could spend my money on!The only reason GM:HTML5 is priced at $200 because it makes HTML5 games and is targeted at professionals who want a tool to easily create HTML5 games, therefore it has a professional price.
Somehow I clicked Post Comment prematurely. These new versions come out way too often for me to catch up :\
I'll get it if somebastardone submits an example in this new version. As long as my $25 dollar purchase is kept with the new release I will be satisfied. I'm with kabob.
I'm glad to hear that it sounds like they are starting to get more serious. I found game maker on my community college's computers, but we never used it while i was there.I also hope its backwards compatible. That always was annoying. Those complaining about the price, stick with your current version then! Unless of course they charge upgrade fees <_<
