> Taizen Chisou: host a compoi'm sorry, but whatSo, RPG comp?Any people in support of the existence of one?Any people in support of someone else hosting?Someone else please host or I'll have to do it and it'll be a sad day.MY HYPOTHETICAL RULES IN THE CASE NO ONE IS A COOL DUDE AND VOLUNTEERS TO HOST:- teams of seven or less- all contributors are to be listed as a 'team member' —–that is to say that Random Dude From Internet Who Donated A Sprite takes up one of your seven spaces- runs from Sunday, 22 April to Sunday, 1 July (that is nine weeks.)- at least one hour of gameplay (with a beginning, middle, end, story, etc. etc. etc.)- not strictly RPG, but RPG elements are requiredAnd that's it.I personally would love to have an RPG competition on the site, I think it'd get me to actually make one. But we know how good of a track record I have when it comes to competition entries.Which is another point-do you think anyone could complete an entry?Any ideas?
How long would we have to work on this?
It could be a good excuse to actually make a game that I've been meaning to make for a while, but time constraints could be a put-off. That is to say, if it was less than maybe 6 or 7 weeks minimum, I probably wouldn't join in if only because I don't think I'd be able to make the game well in that time frame.@Zac1790 Yeh, that puts what I said into better words.
I think we need at least a month, preferably more. You can't make an RPG in a few hours like some other games, this actually requires tons of effort.
Ideally, two to three months is what I'm looking at.
A. a competition based on the biggest, hardest games to make? you're looking at 3-5 finished entries at the most, unless this is some massive six month competition. seriously, take into account the pace that people program given their often busy lives.
B. i'm sick of competitions, can we not have a collaboration on 64digits for once? especially when it comes to RPGs, you'd rather have people working together on one that's high quality, rather than a bunch of iffy RPG games.A team competition would be nice. Four-man teams?
I like the mini-rpg compo idea better… But here's an idea for the collab: 64drpg. Talk to chiken and fsx and whoever else is taking part. Tell them you want to help - and help 'em! :D
from what i collect 64collabs have an excellent history of progress
Ignore this fool. The presence of Dropbox will make this a success!
