Anyone Need a Composer?

Posted by mr8bit on Sept. 17, 2012, 6:55 p.m.

Hello all. My name is mr8bit and I am the composer on the recently-released game, DUNGEONMEN: Men of Dungeons, which won second place in the RPG4D contest. I was just posting to see if anyone out there is interested in having me compose a soundtrack for their game… FOR FREE.

I have a few stipulations, though. First, I insist on having control of the ENTIRE soundtrack. I won't do just one or two tracks. I can't stand it when a game has a cobbled-together, inconsistent soundtrack and I refuse to be a part of any such thing. Second, it is essential that I have a good deal of freedom as to what the final soundtrack will sound like. You can tell me a general feeling or mood of the music you want, but NOT what instruments I should use. And third, I do not do midi. I will send mp3s, oggs, WAVs… whatever. Just not midi.

That's about it. If you are interested in my offer, check out DUNGEONMEN to get an idea of what I do. I work in all styles and have no preferences in regards to the game's genera. Hit me up and let's get to work!

REZ is desperately trying to make a dream team ? He musta mind controlled me into randomly asking to help him then.

I think he mind-controlled me into posting this blog, too.

If Rez is going to compete, he sure as hell is going to win, no matter the cost.

Seriously though, what's the team size cap here? Some of us soloers want to have a chance too.

Not me exactly, team MrLudarezbits to be precise.

Kilin: To me the spirit is much more lets-finish-something… hence why I didn't even try to start my own project and I'm just helping out REZ, who is really doing most of the work in my opinion. The blog entry with the rules implied you could have collaborators, plural, so at least 3 I would think.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm eager to see some quality entries and those are best done with more hands. I'd like to find collaborators myself, but unfortunately my ideas are so strange that evidently people would rather wait for the result than help it along.

*cough*Purianite/Cyrus*cough*

But that's cool too.

Also, this blog is 501000.

I remember when someone got blog 5000.

* Edits after looking* oh wow it was kabob, and I'm referenced as wanting it xD

Collabs require a little compromise. And I'm sorry if it seems like I'm turning into the iron giant with this one, I just really want to make a good, finished game. :>

We'd all accepted you were the iron giant of S4D before all this.

Now you have no excuses. I'm going to do a Let's Play of your game or at least get on Teamspeak and occasionally interrupt everyone's conversation with the screaming headless axe guy.

And I've done a lot of collabs, but typically what happens is you both need to be in on it from the very start and both pitching ideas equally, or else someone doesn't get the initial adrenaline rush.

So much pressure on me to deliver now. xD
