Just got a copy of the new pokemon game today. I've upgraded from Sapphire to White so… I'm not used to seeing pokemon in 3D. Wtf. This is craziness. Doesn't feel the same. I like it, but at the same time, it's not pokemon anymore.
The game is full of effects and scenes that make use of camera movements and the 3D perspective. It's a little much, but it's cool I guess. Haven't gotten that far, just started. Literally bought it 30 minutes ago. Has anyone got a copy for themselves yet? What do you think of the new generation of pokemon?
To qoute Killain….
My brother's girlfriend got one of the games. As far as I saw/heard, there are two things that set it apart from other gamesNow she sounds like a keeper! What level is her mage on WoW?The panic music is a great improvement over the beeping of the previous games.
I got so tired of the panic music on the first and second generation games. Ruby/Sapphire improved there's, but Black/White is so much better.
I heard the music change mid-fight and I was like, "THAT'S BADASS."
And Colosseum along with Gale of Darkness were adventure games rather than being Stadium games. Except, you couldn't capture Pokemon whenever the hell. You could only capture corrupted "Shadow" Pokemon, or the very low variety in the wild when you used food as a lure. The 3D is eye-burning bad. Scaling and rotating sprites is wrong.
It's better than Pokemon Battle Revolution where the camera and animations are so bland that they might as well have used sprites instead of 3d models.
Yeah, honestly I've seen 2D-3D mixes done worse. It's not like we expected much from the DS anyway. Battle Revolution, on the other hand, was an abomination in many ways, more than just petty graphics.
I hate the new 3d, it ruins it
Maybe they should've waited to make it look better with the 3Ds…just like Halo2 would've been a bit better on the 360 *shrugs*
