I want to keep an open communication between myself and all of you for the duration of the initial setup and execution of the 64Digits Spring Competition. I'm going to be using this as a sort of training grounds for the full on GAME JAM I'm going to be hosting later this year, OHJAM (which is a separate entity from this competition).Let me know if you have anything to add or have any questions on anything!I respond better to facebook or twitter messages.IF YOU NEED TO CONTACT ME ABOUT SWITCHING/JOINING/LEAVING TEAMS, SEND ME A MESSAGE ON HERE OR AN EMAIL
Wheee! Competitions!! ^______^
Whoops, my username was Yaru and not Yal? Gotta fill in the form again… :PI updated the rules so that you CAN enter your game in other competitions, or use a game made for another competition in this event, as long as you didn't start working before the start date of 64DSC.
I count 62 entrants.
This has almost as many entrants as we do digits. *angrily contemplates dragging a friend in to participate*GameJolt is also going to display the games in a similar manner to the way they're hosting the Cyberpunk Jam games.
The craziest part is that not a lot of people even know this event is happening yet - it's going to explode once it starts and people start seeing other devs streaming, posting progess, and telling others about their games. We're at about 60, I'm expecting 150, but there is the potential for more. If you have any form of social media, mention this once every couple of days.Oh by the way, Acid, can you update my entry to put me in RC and Sel's team?
guess who got us another entrant?
I already did, Moikle! :P
Anybody else switching/joining teams should contact me directly so I can make sure I get it! I can't promise I'll remember to do something someone asked of me in a comment section! I don't want your stuff to get messed up because of a misunderstanding. This might be an interesting read for everyone:
#1GAM: How to Succeed at Making One Game a MonthThe first 150 Participants will receive Unity Pro for the duration of the competition!
If you've been contemplating joining, and planning on using Unity if you did, you should probably get on that. :P@Mega: Even though everything said in that article seems really obvious, it's actually very helpful. I think my problem with game development is I try to start with art and programming at the same time when really I should be using placeholder graphics to get the game logic down and then worry about making it pretty.
