Joewoof's Sentiments I

Posted by Joewoof on June 3, 2006, 10:50 a.m.

I better express my thoughts in writing than in words. Debate forums on controversial issues are great places for philosophical inspirations and reflections. The problem, however, is that forums are not exactly the best places to log your thoughts (more likely the opposite). Blogging, on the other hand, is perfect. …

New Banner & More

Posted by Joewoof on May 30, 2006, 7:19 a.m.

Thanks to Ace02, I realized that an old favorite font I was using is a commercial one. I was using it in my old team, where one of my teammates legally bought it. However, now that I'm out of that team, I obviously can't use it in any more of …

My New Motto

Posted by Joewoof on May 28, 2006, 11:01 a.m.

Previously, the original motto of "Sapphire Blood Studios" (now just Studio, without the "s") was Creativity Through Conflict. Basically, what it means is that, between all team members with such different outlooks, attitudes, standards and ideals, we can take advantage of those differences by challenging each other to constantly …

One - Update 3

Posted by Joewoof on May 27, 2006, 11:40 p.m.

After a rather shaky start, I've managed to pull through and completed the entire core of this card game's engine.

That's right - the engine at this point is actually playable, although it's going to be really boring (doh, if this much work is enough to make the game …

One - Update 2

Posted by Joewoof on May 26, 2006, 1:30 p.m.

ARGH. I VASTLY underestimated the complexities of coding a SIMPLE poker-deck-based card game. Here's what I did so far:

  • Completed "deck" system. It behaves just like a real card deck, allowing you to draw 1 unique card out of 54 cards with no repeat. Drawing cards can be done both …
  • One - Update 1

Finally started on the card game. Since there's not much material needed and the designs are largely completed, there's not much more to do other than the game engine.

But that's the hard part. :)

This is my first try doing a card game, and so far it's going pretty …

    VouSei Advent Update

  • After seeing an increasing number of games with amazing graphics recently, I've decided to follow suit and enhance the background. Previously, the background has no depth. Now, I've used a simple code to create an illusion of depth. This adds a cool dimension to the atmosphere. See …

    VouSei Advent - Update 7

    Posted by Joewoof on May 20, 2006, 2:14 a.m.

Had a sudden spark of literary inspiration yesterday night ('bout time), so I went ahead and worked on the script for VouSei Advent.

  • Script - Added dialogue for "Act Zero - Overture".

  • Script - Rewrote dialogue for "Act One - The Unshackling" (may add a little more to it though) …
